Sundays at 6:00pm
614 South Elm Street
The first Vespers Mission of the North American Lutheran Church was Sunday, September 1, 2013. Thanks to all who came out in support.
Services are held weekly at 6:00 PM in Greensboro’s historic South Elm District at 614 South Elm Street, Greensboro, NC. This is home to Charlie & Ruth Jones, founders of City 616, a community outreach center, who are pictured below in front of the entrance to the building where the Vespers services will be held.
Our worship follows the Service of Evening Prayer (Vespers) in the Lutheran Book of Worship and is led by Pastor Mark Ryman of Saint John’s Lutheran Church (Asheboro, NC). Pastor Ryman was recently commissioned (ironically, during Matins, or Morning Prayer) at the Carolinas Mission District convocation to begin the larger program of the Vespers Mission Project by starting a mission in Greensboro.
The vision of the Vespers Mission is twofold: to shine the light of Jesus Christ in the darkness and to form new mission congregations of the North American Lutheran Church.
You are invited to join us for Vespers at 614 South Elm Street, Greensboro, NC, any Sunday evening beginning in September 2013. If you cannot find parking on the street (and one can), parking is available at a cost of $2 around the corner on Lewis Street, one block away.
